The Umbrian region produces some of the finest natural produce in Italy, and you can experience the flavors in cooking classes based on a variety of recipes rooted in ancient traditions.
In visits to wine cellars, private homes, villas and farmhouses as well as specialist tastings, the accent is always on genuine flavors from fresh produce in season.
But there is more to Umbria than the kitchen. We experience the food from harvesting to the plate. While we are there, we explore Central Umbria’s culinary heritage, go on a truffle hunt, sample award-winning Sagrantino wines, and visit a local olive grower and mill.
Additionally, we visit Deruta, Italy’s ceramics capital, explore local artisan cloth weaving in Perugia and Montefalco, receive introductions to the local food and wine and gain insights into the wealth of Umbria’s art and history.
