Due to circumstances related to operation of this itinerary we have decided to postpone our program until 2013. After a recent visit to the area it was determined accommodations did not come up to our expectations. Also many new experiences are available for inclusion. Knowing you expect the best, creative itinerary we are working toward offering you the very finest in 2013.

Every two years, in the city of Bra a spectacular cheese bonanza takes place under the patronage of the International Slow Food Movement. With 150,000+ participants, this is one of the most important cheese festivals in the world.

The event features more than 150 stalls for cheese and cheese products, as well as other tastings from different Italian regions. Roughly 1500kg of buffalo mozzarella, 500kg of focaccias and 2000kg of olives are sold to a knowledgeable crowd.

The gigantic Hall of Taste hosts wine booths and educational programs, including the Slow Food taste workshops.

We intend to incorporate additional regional events during the same week in Piemonte.  In Asti this week will be the Douja d'Or Wine Festival, the Palio degli Sbandieratori (flag-throwing competition) and the Palio d'Asti. The Palio is one of the oldest horse racing festivals in Italy.  As many as 1200 local citizens don medieval costumes and parade through the streets with music and fanfare.  A photographer's dream experience!
