Priello will be our home base for this week -- off the beaten track -- where we enjoy delicious food, wine and medieval villages. Priello is a working farm created from a restored collection of 17th century farmhouses. We added a swimming pool with a stunning view across the Tiber River Valley. Located about 1.5 hours from Florence in eastern Tuscany, Priello overlooks the border with Umbria.
From Priello we can comfortably visit many of the popular destinations in the region. We visit Sansepolcro, birthplace of Piero della Francesca and where the ancient Crossbow Competition is held annually. Other sites we visit include Michelangelo’s birthplace just down the road from Priello, medieval Anghiari, Cortona, Arezzo, La Verna Monastery and Monterchi.Plus you will have time on your own to relax and take in the spectacular views and enjoy the amazing cuisine of the region. We have plenty to do but will also have time to relax and enjoy “la dolce vita.” If you are in a hurry, this is not the week for you. We take it slow and easy.
