Enjoy the beauty of Emilia-Romagna and historical Bologna!
October - November is the time of truffle and chestnuts, but this time is also very exciting because of the olive harvest.
You will have wine and extra virgin olive oil tastings, go truffle hunting with the truffle hunter and his dog, go picking the best marroni (chestnuts) in Castel del Rio, and visit a small Parmigiano Reggiano producer and traditional Balsamic Vinegar producer in Modena. Enjoy cooking classes of regional specialties. Visit Dozza, the center of wine production in Romagna.
Enjoy you hotel in the small town of Riolo Terme (spectacular views), visit Ravenna for masterpieces of Byzantine art, and a ceramic artisan studio in Faenza. Watch as hand printed linens are made, visit food markets (and time for shopping). Your guided visit of historical Bologna will make you want to return to this often overlooked city to enjoy its bounty of art and culture (not to mention more food!).
Spend a morning picking your own olives with Elena, take them to the press, taste the just made extra virgin olive oil of Brisighella, one of the best of Italy!
Back to Elena’s for an afternoon of pasta making and cooking farm fresh produce straight from the garden! This is a day you will never forget.
You will remember forever our visit to the wine cellar and farewell dinner with Michelin-stared chef, Valentino Marcattilii, at San Domenico Restaurant in Imola!
